London!! part deux: Trafalgar Square

After we left Buckingham Palace, we headed towards Trafalgar Square so M.C. and I could see Macbeth starring James McAvoy.  On our way, we spotted this little piece of heaven and just had to stop for lunch.
I know I'm supposed to be eating exciting and new English cuisine, but I'm only human!  I'm a Texas girl and we need a healthy dose of Mexican food every now and then.

After eating Chipotle burritos the size of newborn babies (Lucy is now hooked on them, by the way), we walked the rest of the way to Trafalgar Square; and I was not at all prepared for what I was about to see.
Nelson's column

The four lions standing guard... Do you see *it* in the distance?

Closer...

Closer...

It's become something of a tradition to climb on the lions, so there were swarms of people of all ages clambering up the side of the monument.

I hope you can see the scale because these things were HUGE!

Every detail was so beautiful.

This Nelson guy must have been pretty important.

I didn't climb on them, but instead opted for a picture with my feet safely on the ground.

Lucy couldn't resist though.

And neither could Kate.

This guy didn't mind.

Everything about Trafalgar Square is absolutely magical.  I fell in love with this city from the moment I saw Big Ben off in the distance... but that's another post!

TO BE CONTINUED!
STAY TUNED!
